What's Actually Included in a $125 Thermal Touch Diagnostic Call?

Quick answer: $50 diagnostic + $75 dispatch = $125, same price in all 5 NJ counties. Joe (NATE-certified) walks the whole system, uses real diagnostic tools (combustion analyzer, manometer, multimeter, IR thermometer), explains what's happening in plain English, and provides a written estimate before any repair starts. If Joe does the repair the same day and you approve it, we drop the $125 entirely — you only pay the quoted repair. Return visits (parts on order) include a $75 return-visit fee and a 20% deposit.

If you've ever called an HVAC company and gotten a vague answer about pricing — "well, it depends" — you already know why we lead with the number.

Our diagnostic is $125. Same in Howell. Same in Toms River. Same in Princeton, Freehold, Brick, Mount Holly, and everywhere in between. And if Joe can do the repair the same day and you approve it, we drop the $125 entirely — you only pay the quoted repair.

Here's exactly what that gets you.

The math: $50 + $75 = $125

$50 is the diagnostic. That's Joe (NATE-certified, seasoned in the trades) on-site, hands on your equipment, running the tests that pinpoint what's actually happening — not guessing based on what you described over the phone.

$75 is the dispatch. That's the fuel to get to your driveway, the time between jobs, and the cost of keeping the van stocked with the parts that fix 80% of common calls on the first visit.

Together: $125. No trip fee on top. No "evaluation fee" surprise. No fuel surcharge.

What Joe actually does when he shows up

Every diagnostic follows the same rhythm:

1. He asks you what you noticed

Sometimes the fix starts with something the homeowner heard, smelled, or watched happen at 2am. We take that seriously.

2. He looks at the whole system, not just the complaint

If you called about no heat, we still look at the thermostat wiring, the filter, the flue, the pressure, the electrical connections. Because "no heat" can have five different root causes, and we'd rather find the actual one on visit #1.

3. He uses real diagnostic tools

Combustion analyzer, manometer, multimeter, IR thermometer. Not just "listening to it and shrugging." This is how we can tell you why something is happening, not just that it's happening.

4. He walks you through what he found

In plain English. At the equipment. So you can see what he's seeing.

5. He gives you a written estimate before any repair starts

Every price is on paper (or on your phone) before we turn a wrench. You approve it. Then we work. Never the other way around.

What happens after the diagnostic

You get three honest options:

  1. Fix it now — Joe has the part on the van (very often), the repair happens the same visit. In most cases, when you approve the repair on-site, we drop the $125 entirely and you only pay the quoted repair price.
  2. Fix it later — you have the estimate, the parts list, and our number. Call when you're ready. No follow-up sales pressure.
  3. Don't fix it — sometimes the answer is "this can wait a year" or "this isn't actually the problem you thought it was." We'll tell you honestly.

What we don't do

  • We don't work on commission. Joe's paycheck doesn't go up if he sells you something.
  • We don't do "good/better/best" upsell menus for basic repairs.
  • We don't charge extra for weekends or evenings within our 8am–7pm window.
  • We take cash, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, and Zelle.
  • We don't invent extra work. If the fix is a $12 igniter, the answer is a $12 igniter — not a laundry list of "while we're here" line items.

What our diagnostic covers
