Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell — done right.
We supply the thermostat and install it clean — wiring verified, C-wire handled, and fully commissioned to your system. No guesswork, no burned control boards.
DIY thermostat installs are the #1 reason people call us for "my heat stopped working the next day." Modern smart thermostats need a C-wire (common), the right wiring configuration for your specific system, and proper commissioning at the equipment. We supply the thermostat, handle all of it, and the manufacturer's warranty stays intact because it was installed correctly.
What we do
- Remove your old thermostat and inspect the wiring at both ends
- Add a C-wire if your system doesn't already have one (using an add-a-wire adapter or fishing a new conductor where possible)
- Configure the new thermostat for your specific equipment — single-stage, two-stage, dual-fuel, heat pump, zoned
- Wire and commission at the control board — not just the wall plate
- Test heat, cool, fan, and auxiliary strips (heat pumps) at the equipment
- Walk you through the app pairing and scheduling if you want
Thermostats we supply and install
- Nest — Learning, E, Thermostat (2020), Nest Cam integration
- Ecobee — Smart Premium, Smart Enhanced, 3 Lite, room sensors
- Honeywell / Resideo — T-Series (T6, T9, T10), VisionPRO, Lyric, Prestige
- Emerson / Sensi — Sensi Touch, Sensi Wi-Fi
- Standard 7-day programmable — any brand, non-smart replacement
- Line-voltage baseboard (with proper safety derating)
Diagnostic + dispatch
$50 diagnostic + $75 dispatch. Waived on approved install. Return visits $75. Thermostat and parts (like add-a-wire adapters) require 20% deposit.
Why professional installation matters
The C-wire problem
Smart thermostats need constant 24V power. If your system was wired for a mercury-bulb thermostat 30 years ago, there's no C-wire — and running a smart thermostat on "power stealing" causes intermittent failures, frozen apps, and sometimes fries the control board. We handle this properly.
The heat pump wiring problem
Heat pumps need O/B, aux/E, and sometimes emergency heat strapping. Wire a Nest wrong on a heat pump and your system runs the strips constantly — your bill triples. We know the difference.
The dual-fuel problem
Dual-fuel systems (heat pump + gas furnace backup) need the thermostat configured to switch based on outdoor temp, not indoor. Get this wrong and either the heat pump runs when it can't produce heat, or the gas kicks in way too early. We commission it correctly.
Which thermostat is right for you?
Not sure which one to pick? Call us. Most systems in NJ work great with Ecobee Smart Premium or Nest Learning — we stock both. Zoned systems and older boilers sometimes need specific compatibility. A five-minute call and we'll recommend the right unit, order it, and bring it to the install.
